RULES VIDEO

A classic staring-contest and sabotage party card game where players lay cute guest cards onto the table and must end up with the fewest penalty points. On your turn you either play a card to satisfy the table's condition, or shout the powerful 'Nope!' card to slam the door on an opponent's play and hand them a penalty bomb — that playful mutual interaction is the heart of the mechanic. The taste of split-second judgment and pulling off a well-timed sabotage delivers simple but intense fun.

Skip it if there are only 2 players (unplayable) or 3 or fewer (the fun of biting sabotage and passing the bomb drops off sharply); with players who easily tire of or get hurt by the direct sting of having their move blocked flat by a single 'Nope!' card and the mutual interaction system; or with a group of serious Euro strategy fans who prefer a carefully engineered build-up.

Scores by situation

New faces+

♡♡♡♡♡ [Crowd-pleaser] Teaches in under two minutes — it's that easy and intuitive. With a clear rule of laying cards and blocking others' plays with 'Nope!', total newcomers or a couples' mixer sync up the instant it's explained. The absurd blocks and laughter erupting from the first turn make it a top-tier icebreaker for cracking a first-meeting silence.

Close friends+

♡♡♡♡♡ [Sure bet] Among close friends, this game's comic potential and dopamine tension explode. The moment a friend plays their trump card certain of victory, staring them down and shouting 'Nope!' to flip the table and deliver a heap of penalty points triggers screams and gleeful jeering with a 100% hit rate.

Strategy+

♡☆☆☆☆ [Undersized] For mid-level strategy groups who want tight engine build-up or high-concept system design, the early-draw luck and instant-sabotage-driven light system leave strategic depth badly wanting. Even as a secondary bridge card for advanced players to cool down, it can feel flat and hollow.

Couple+

♡☆☆☆☆ [Wrong weight class] This game needs at least 3 players tangling cards across multiple tables in a snarl of sabotage and bomb-passing to work at all. As a peaceful, cozy healing pick for a couple to enjoy alone, it doesn't even qualify to begin with — a hard bottom score.

Duel+

♡☆☆☆☆ [Multiplayer required] Only with at least 3, ideally a full 4-5 room, does the tense back-and-forth of trading 'Nope!' cards and the chaotic tension fully come alive. 2-player is flatly impossible by system design, so it's a complete miss as a head-to-head duel card too.

Gateway+

♡☆☆☆☆ [Tier 1 (not recommended)] A great party game for instant tactile fun and dopamine, but it lacks the depth to teach the achievement of a 'modern strategy board game' — optimizing resources and building your own infrastructure to snowball a score. Not the right stepping stone for eager, sharp beginners heading into the world of strategy games.
