RULES VIDEO
A topsy-turvy bluffing party card game where players pass 7 kinds of gross animal cards (cockroaches, flies, scorpions, etc. — the Royale version adds a King card and special cards) face-down to an opponent, declaring truthfully or falsely what animal it is; the receiver either catches the lie or passes it along, and whoever ends up with four matching animal cards in front of them loses.
※When a player feels intense guilt, shame, or psychological fatigue just from lying or deceiving others. Or when an introvert gets easily upset in an unlucky spiral where, once they pick up one or two penalty cards, the other players gang up and dump cards on them specifically like picking off the weak one, forcing them into an endless string of guess-the-lie quizzes that wear their mental state down. Also when the group turns serious or stiff instead of tolerating the rowdy tension of playful accusations and scheming that comes with catching lies.

Scores by situation
New faces+−
♡☆☆☆☆ [First-Meeting Barrier] The rule — "hand over a card while lying, and if you're caught or not you take it" — explains itself in three minutes. But because the system has you staring someone dead in the eye and lying outright, or ganging up on one target with psychological pressure, it can turn too sharp-edged for a warm, easygoing icebreaker among first-time acquaintances or couples meeting as a group.
Close friends+−
♡♡♡♡♡ [Dopamine Explosion] There's no better game for close friends sitting around wrecking each other's poker faces. Catching a friend's tiny eye twitch or shaky voice to bust their lie, and watching the whole table gang up to relentlessly pile onto one friend whose mental state is already crumbling from stacked penalties, delivers a wickedly satisfying dopamine explosion.
Strategy+−
♡☆☆☆☆ [Out of Its Weight Class] For intermediate strategists who favor meticulous planning, long-term buildup, or heavy brainwork, this system has essentially no depth. It runs purely on psychological bluffing and wordplay, so groups looking for an intellectual duel through refined mechanics will find its thin, primal weight class unappealing even as a bridge game.
Couple+−
♡☆☆☆☆ [Marriage-Damaging Zone] Not only does it feature gross bug illustrations that are anything but cute, there's nowhere to be found the cozy calm of a couple sitting face to face peacefully building their own pretty little area. It's a game of distrust where you have to stare your partner dead in the eye and swear "this really is a cockroach" — not recommended for a relaxed time as a couple.
Duel+−
♡☆☆☆☆ [Downtime Hell] A two-player rule exists and allows a precise head-to-head poker-face battle, but it completely loses Cockroach Poker's real fun — the many-player tension of reading the room while passing hot-potato cards and piling onto one weak link. As a serious rival showdown for brainy players who want precise calculation or system control, it's bland and flat.
Gateway+−
♡♡☆☆☆ [Level 2 (Underwhelming)] The rules are intuitive and easy, but there's no cohesive rule structure or deep system to learn — it relies 100% on the basic human psychological battle of 'lying' and 'poker face.' For a sharp newcomer hoping to use their head, learn a refined mechanism, and feel intellectually satisfied, it feels like a lightweight joke of a game, which is disappointing.
